Cards for Troops stamping!!

Aug 21st, 2010 Posted in CARDS FOR TROOPS, Christmas Cards & Pages, Daily Post | one comment »

I had a fellow stamper meet me on Thursday to help make cards for troops. We made a little progress. Here are some pics of the 35 cards we got done. It’s not much, but I have more things cut out to finish up some more.

We used up some of our designer paper from last Christmas and just kept switching up the cardstock. I used ruby red (also retired), Handsome Hunter (ret) and night of navy, paired up with the DSP and some crumb cake

Since the base card was dark, we put a white sheet inside for the troops to write on.

Here’s the starting stack.

We’re going to make some more in  few weeks, so if you’re in the Albuquerque area and want to help out… come on over and stamp with us!!

Please take the time to leave a comment of what you think of our cards.

Cards for Troops

This Thursday we will meet to make cards for the troops. Anyone in the local area who would like to come and stamp….we will begin around 11:00 am MST.

Bring any spare cardstock you may have (especially white and vanilla), and I have lots of colored cardstock, stamps and inks. If you have anything else you’d like to bring (embossing folders for the bigshot or other dies) to cut out things to go on the cards..you’re welcome to bring them. We’ll start stamping when someone gets here (have a couple who have RSVP’d), and will continue until the last person goes home. I will supply some snacks and drinks.

Come prepared to stamp a LOT!!If you need directions to my stamp studio, please email me at “prairiestamper@gmail.com”. Thanks!!

Engraved Greeting and “paper lace”

Aug 10th, 2010 Posted in CARDS FOR TROOPS, COLORS, Daily Post | no comment »

I saw a simple card using this stamp and wanted to try something different for a full size card. The card I saw was a little 3×3 card. This one is full size. I started out using ribbon, but wanted to use all papers so I could use this as one of the cards for our Cards for Troops class. So I used the new little eyelet lace border punch and made 3 strips in black and white.  The picture was taken with my cell phone (so please excuse my messy desk!! )
