Engraved Greeting and “paper lace”

Aug 10th, 2010 Posted in CARDS FOR TROOPS, COLORS, Daily Post | Comments Off

I saw a simple card using this stamp and wanted to try something different for a full size card. The card I saw was a little 3×3 card. This one is full size. I started out using ribbon, but wanted to use all papers so I could use this as one of the cards for our Cards for Troops class. So I used the new little eyelet lace border punch and made 3 strips in black and white.  The picture was taken with my cell phone (so please excuse my messy desk!! )

Cards for Troops…

Jul 29th, 2010 Posted in Big Shot Ideas, Card Classes, CARDS FOR TROOPS, Specialty Classes | Comments Off

How many of you have friends, neighbors, loved ones, or know of someone who has someone overseas in the Military?? I know some people overseas, so I’m sure many of you do also.  I know how lonesome it gets over seas, and how hard it is to get things, especially hand made items!!

I am starting a group to make cards to send to the troops.  If you are in the Albuquerque area, you are welcome to join our group and help make cards to send to the Blue Star Mothers who distribute all our hand made cards to the troops.  I have attached a REGISTRATION FORM HERE for anyone who would like to sign up and come. We will have a card making session once a month on the 3rd Thursday beginning at 1:00PM.   This is open to anyone who would like to come. You must pre-register so we can get the supplies for the cards.  As supplies are exhausted, we will order more in a group order.

If you would like to do something nice for our troops, and have some fun with other stampers at the same time, please print off the registration form and mail it to me with the required payment.   I have room for 8-10 people at a time to stamp.  The stamp sessions will run from 1:00PM to ???PM. You can leave when you get tired, or run out of materials!!

If you are a VETERAN of any of the branches of the Armed Forces…. bring your cutter, scissors, scoring tools if you have them and come help us make cards….nothing else required. You don’t have to help supply any of the cardstocks. I will supply everything. Just let me know you are coming so we have plenty of space to stamp!

Thank you for visiting my blog.
