I got some of the new Frostwood Lodge design paper in and had to make a card using it….so decided to use the sketch from Mary Fish’s PPA weekly challenges. Here is this week’s sketch

I love the Winter post stamp set, so used the reindeer, post mark, postcard greeting and snowflakes to embellish my card.

I used some of the diamonds that end up as residue after punching out the snowflakes for the corners, a Triple punch flower and bold glimmer brad to add the extra bling. Ribbon is Real Red satin. The reindeer were stamped in Early Espresso, the sides were sponged with Bashful Blue. Blue mat is Marina Mist, layered over the Frostwood Lodge paper which is the blue and red piece. There is also  a green and red plaid piece in the pack. I hope you get some inspiration from my card and go try your hand using this sketch. I have another card using the same sketch which will be posted on Monday. This was a standard size A2 card.

Supplies: Winter Post stamp set; Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Read Red, Whisper White, Marina Mist;

Designer paper: Frostwood Lodge;

Accessories: Silver Glimmer paper, Bold Glimmer Brads, Triple flower punch, Snowflake punch, Real Red Satin ribbon, sponges, Tombow mulit purpose glue

Note: the top curved part at the tope of the card in the picture is actually the back of the card, I opened the card up and laid it down to take the picture..it’s really not an additional “embellishment” of the card.

This week on Creative-Sketches there is a COLOR challenge using Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, and Basic Black.

I love these colors… they remind me of FALL!! So I made some fall leaves!! We used to have some kind of grasses in the woods where I used to live back east that had little curly q things on the ends of them.. so I added a few of them too. Here’s my card… all leafy and spritzed up!

I’ve included some other views of my card showing a close up of the leaves (stamped in soft suede and cajun craze), the butterfly (all dazzled up with our new dazzling details), and I took some black cardstock to mat and ground the picture. I also added some ruffled ribbon (Organdy heated and shriveled up then scrunched up with some sticky tape) to add a finishing touch. I had to spray on some smooch.. used the vanilla this time to add a little bling. The DSP is from the Well Worn set, since it has all the colors we needed for this card.

Supplies used: French Foliage, Creative Elements stamp sets; Well Worn DSP, Carstocks: Basic Black, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake; Inks : Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede; Accessories: Vanilla smooch spray, dazzling details, black organdy ribbon (ret);

Techniques: Fussy cutting, stamping, spritzing, paper rolling/distressing, ruffled ribbon

Take time to stamp some today… give yourself a break and have some fun!!
