Pink Lace…

I love the new Stampin UP! sizzix DOILY die!! It reminds me of old fashioned crocheted and knitted doilies you used to see in people’s homes years ago. I grew up with a lot of older folks around, who had really cool things like Doilies, overstuffed comfy chairs, pots of jellies cooking on the stove. All those things people used to do years ago when it seemed there were more hours in the day…. and more days in the week. Time flies so fast any more. I sit down to make a card, and get so absorbed into the design and making of the card… I just forget everything. I just wish I could sit and stamp ALL day and ALL night!!

Here is a delicate PINK LACE doily card I made to send to someone.  It’s delicate looking, and so pretty in person. I hope the person enjoys the colors and the card. When I send cards, I don’t always write a note inside so the recipient can reuse the card if they need one. But if you do get a card with writing, and you need a card in a hurry, you can always cut off the front cover and put it on a new card!!

Supplies Used: Doily Sizzlet, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, Blossom Punch, Mixed Bunch stamp set

DSP: Regals pack, Ret-Pink dsp pack, Whisper white and Pretty in Pink cardstock; Regals brads, INKS: Regal Rose

I used some retired pink designer paper from a while back, because (since my daughter LOVES pink), I have a few sheets of it left, and it’s just made it look more lacy and feminine with the delicate design. Some papers I will save to do special things with, like this doily sizzlit. Some colors are just better for this type of cutting, than others.

Horses….in the desert….

NEW list of retired stamps for sale: see RETIRED STAMPS page.

This week I’ve been working on a “mingle” swap for my OSA group, and cleaning up my stamp table (again). It seems it keeps getting covered up before I can put it all away.  While I had my “horse” stamps out for the OSA mingle, I decided to stamp some extra cards to send out. Here’s one I made using a unique style horse. It was really difficult to get enough ink to get all the fine lines stamped. I had to re-ink my stazon pad a few times to get enough ink on the silly stamp! Do you ever have that problem? It seems out here in the desert…things dry out so darn much, especially stamp pads!! It’s such a large stamp I didn’t add a whole lot around it.. just some minor distressing.  So here’s my horse for today. It’s not one for the mingle (didn’t want to show them til they got sent off and received by the gals in he group.

I distressed the edges a bit, sponged some on the white and put a black rhinestone for his eye. Don’t remember who made this stamp.

Be sure to check out the Clearance rack to get some good deals!! Some items are 80% off!!
