Here are some more leaves I have been stamping and cutting out by hand…. I’m told it’s called “fussy cutting”… my friends always ask… “are we going to do fussing cutting today??”….. so here are some fussy cut leaves… of all kinds….

Redbud, oak, pin oak, ….take your pic… I’m not sure yet if these leaves will go on a scrapbook page or a card…hmmmm…what to do.

I love how using markers to make variegated colors make every leaf look different…even if you use the same colors each time!

Welcome back to my blog. If you haven’t been here before, I’d like to welcome you to browse a bit and see all the things I have made or taught. I have been blogging for a few years and even have an older blog at www.highdesertstamper.blogspot.com that has some other interesting projects. Be sure to check the main CREATIVE-SKETCHES blog for all the other design team samples and projects submitted by folks like YOU!

I am not blogging every day, due to classes I am preparing and general “life chores”.  I will strive keep you updated with new projects I am working on, or preparing for a class.

This week’s sketch involves HOLIDAY, particularly FALL or Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving… I have such fond memories growing up back East. My grandfather was a HUNTER and we always had wild goose, wild duck, a ham, oyster stuffing and everything else he could cook…including HOME MADE Mince meat pies!! They were yummy…. Well, my sketch is FALL and Thanksgiving. I love all the colors of Fall, and especially the falling leaves. So I’ve tried to put a little of both in my card. First is the sketch, then some samples of my card.

I’ve made you a Halloween “Frugal” Scrapbook

This month is SCRAPBOOK time! I don’t make a lot of scrapbooks, as I don’t have many pictures to put in them. I have LOTS of my daughter’s little dog…. you’d think he was a grandson or something.. With  the economy the way it is, people aren’t spending a lot on “luxury” items, so I have made a “FRUGAL  half-size scrapbook”.  This one is made all of cardstock, no binder to put it into. So your only cost in making something similar is the cost of the cardstock, some inks, existing stamps from your Stamp Stash,  any embellishments you might have around your craft room, and the 3 rings to hold all the pages together…and oh yes.. a  MAGNET to close it shut.

I am having a Halloween Card/Gift class this week, so I thought I’d let the gals make one of these… so my theme is Halloween. You can make one of these quickie scrapbooks in an afternoon and make it ANY THEME you desire! So if you need a quick gift for a party, anniversary, etc… give it a try. It’s amazing what you can find in drawers once you start digging for things to decorate your book.

First the COVER: The right flap is held shut with a little strip of magnet. It only takes about 1″ of magnet on both sides of the flap to hold the book shut. I used to hunt all over town for magnets before SU came out with this wonderful pack of magnet sheets. You get 3-  12″ long sheets to a pack.

Here’s a closer view of the cover and side flap >>>

Inside the cover is a couple of pages for you to write some notes on what the event might be….Halloween party, trick or treating, school party, Masquerade ball, etc.

Each section has a cover page, followed by 4 pages for pictures. Here’s Section I:

Then on to SECTION 2:

And finally SECTION 3:

Here’s another view of the book…you can see all the different sections

Designer Elements: Night Fright DSP, Pick your Poison Accents
