One of our SU demos created a very pretty and patriotic scrapbook page. Since it features our American flag and today is America’s 234th birthday, I had to feature it today. This page was created by Robyn Correa who is currently in Ireland and cannot participate in all our 4th of July celebrations.

RETIRING INKS and PAPERS

Can you guess how many bags of inks and pads are on this table?? It’s a LOT!! I couldn’t believe how many inks, pads, refills, markers, spots, cartridges I had in the drawers that retired!! If you’d like to get in on the good prices… I am marking all the packets up to 50% off this weekend!  Come on over on Monday and be the first to pick through them and grab your favorite!  I will be selling all my retired inks this week. Any left over “may” be saved to use for cards for troops, or sold in a BIG RETIREMENT sale I am having in August.  So come on over Monday, July 5th, 11:00AM – 2:00PM, browse, shop, and make a quickie card I have whipped up with Bouquet Bunch.

All this INK!!

PINKS!

Creamy Caramel

Greens!

So if you’re in the area… stop by and see what treasures you can find!  If you have reserved a catalog, I have them for you to pick up when you come by.

See you on Monday…July 5th at 11:00am

Flag Day around the USA

Jun 14th, 2010 Posted in Card Classes, History, Patriotic | 2 comments »

It is not a traditional holiday such as the Nations’s Birthday on the 4th of July. The “stars and stripes” was adopted by the Congress, Jun 14th, 1777 as the official emblem of the United States.  Celebration of our flag first began in 1885, largely for the purpose of educating school children in history. In 1949, the National Flag Day Bill became law, giving official recognition to 14 June to celebrate the flag.  The National Flag Day foundation has the mission to carry on the tradition of the first flag day observance.

Here’s another link on the History of Flag Day. I love the colors Red/White/Blue together in cards and paper crafting. I was also in the AF and was always proud to wear my uniform and salute our Flag.  I made some cards, one for a sketch challenge (Sketch Frenzy Friday), and one to teach my stampers some faux iris folding technique.  I am also including some other patriotic cards I have seen over the last few weeks.  The watermarks on the cards show who made all the cards.

Here is the first card from the sketch challenge:

The next card is the Faux Iris technique. One card has the chunky silver glitter for the “fireworks”, the other has the red chunky glitter. They also have the STAR brads which are retiring and are on the 50% off clearance list!! Get them now before they’re gone!!

Dualling Stars and stripes

Ok..here are some of my favorite patriotic cards I have seen from our SU demos over the past few weeks.  I hope you enjoy these cards and scrap pages as much as I have. There is a ton of wonderful talent out there…don’t you think!!?
