Tea for 2….or more…

The beautiful  TEA SHOPPE set was  retired in the All Occasions mini just this past week. I am hoping it will be in the new catalog, but until then, I’d like to share a little TEA BOX made using some of the purple papers and the sentiment from Tea Shoppe set. You could use any sentiment you’d like when you make something like this.

Here’s a side view…..

And one my friend Gail made with me the same day… We each love purple papers.

We used the simply score tool to make the rosettes on top of the lids. The lids come off so you can load up all the tea bags. Another one of my friends got some pink papers to make a pink (pink pirouette) box, but I havent’ seen it yet. When she brings it over I’ll be sure to share it with you.

New Mexico “green”…

What do you do when you come home with a sore throat and a cold?? You get your mom to make a big pot of green chili stew to get rid of the cold!! Here in NM, instead of chicken soup for a cold…though I do make that too.. I make GREEN CHILI stew. I have seen various people online make “chili”.. or what they call chili, but it’s NOTHING like what we make here in New Mexico. I saw a recipe where someone added a Tablespoon of chili powder to their pot of “stew”…. Hmm… wonder if they could even taste it. I use at least one PINT of ROASTED NEW MEXICO green chili, plus some red chili powder for taste, some hot pepper flakes if the chili doesn’t have much of a bite, and various vegetables, herbs, broth, etc… and you end up with a “I can’t stop eating ” pot of GREEN CHILI STEW. I used to use a soup mix for the flavoring of the base, but over the years I have developed a recipe that works very well. So here’s the “cold remedy”… pot of GREEN CHILI STEW. I did this in stead of stamping this afternoon.

Want just a bowl?? Here’s that too.

It was sooo good!! I try to put some away in the freezer for EMERGENCIES!! You know.. those evenings when you get home and are so tired you don’t want to cook?? I have in the freezer, some Green chili stews, Red chili stews, KC Chili NM style, chicken read to cook, cooked pasta ready to pop in some hot water to heat up, etc.. Take the time to make a big pot of your favorite soup or stew and freeze some for one of those hectic days when you don’t feel like cooking!! All you need to add is some tortillas or fresh cornbread out of the oven!!  Buen Apetito!

PS: This is one thing being a Stampin’ UP! demo allows me to do… make HOME MADE dishes for my family. It takes more time to cook from scratch, but the results are well worth it!!
