I finally got my  new Christmas paper and made this cute little notebook with Santa on the front!!  This is a hybrid project. The notebook has a pocket inside for putting all those “size lists of your kids, friends”, or for coupons, receipts…whatever you need to hold onto for a while. Now for todays’ POST.  I participated in a local group swap and we had to make only card fronts. I don’t like making card fronts only, as I feel it is a waste of cardstock, since you have to come back and cut another 1/2 sheet of card stock to attach the card to, to be able to send it out, or use it as a full card. So I used the 2 tag die to create a front flap that flips up with the greeting underneath, attached to just the CARD FRONT!!

So next time you have just a qtr sheet of card stock to work with…. use some kind of “flap feature” to add a decorated front and a greeting!!

I’d like to thank my Upline Jill Olsen for her training video showing this technique. I didn’t use the same size flap as she did, but thought the two tags die punch went with the balloons and pennants.

Supplies used: Stamp sets: Swirls and Curls Verses (hostess set), Pennant Parade, Pennant punch (coordinating punch), Small oval punch (balloons), Two tag die (bigshot),

Paper: Bring on the Cake (DSP), Cardstock: River Rock, Soft Sky (ret), Pool Party, Apricot (ret), Night of Navy;  1/4″ gg ribbon (Apricot ret), Square Fire rhinestones, INKS: Island Indigo, Delicate Dots embossing folder ; Replaced the retired colors with the new colors Pool Party, So Saffron, Delightful Daffodil for my swaps.. This was my “prototype” card I used just to get the layout and colors matched up.
