More horses….

Jan 4th, 2012 Posted in ALBUQUERQUE RUBBER STAMPING, ASIAN ART, Card Classes, Daily Post, New Mexico, NEW PRODUCTS, TECHNIQUE CLASS, WORK AT HOME | one comment »

Bet you thought you’d seen all the horses….well.. I had to make 4 cards…so I did them all a bit different. Here’s the one I sent to my granddaughter in Tenn. I braided the hemp along the side using a 4 strand macrame braid. The front is polished stone.

My granddaughter loves horses… so I had to make one for her. When you do  polished stone…the colors always come out different, even when you use the same mixes. I love the blue tones in this one. It was actually a green I used with some golds and oranges with gold metallic ink.

Check back later for some sneak peeks of projects using some of the new items from the Spring Mini Occasions flyer. There are some really neat new tools that match the new stamp sets.  You still have time to get some of the goodies off the CLEARANCE RACK!! Things are reduced as much as 80%. That sale will end tomorrow!!

Horses….in the desert….

NEW list of retired stamps for sale: see RETIRED STAMPS page.

This week I’ve been working on a “mingle” swap for my OSA group, and cleaning up my stamp table (again). It seems it keeps getting covered up before I can put it all away.  While I had my “horse” stamps out for the OSA mingle, I decided to stamp some extra cards to send out. Here’s one I made using a unique style horse. It was really difficult to get enough ink to get all the fine lines stamped. I had to re-ink my stazon pad a few times to get enough ink on the silly stamp! Do you ever have that problem? It seems out here in the desert…things dry out so darn much, especially stamp pads!! It’s such a large stamp I didn’t add a whole lot around it.. just some minor distressing.  So here’s my horse for today. It’s not one for the mingle (didn’t want to show them til they got sent off and received by the gals in he group.

I distressed the edges a bit, sponged some on the white and put a black rhinestone for his eye. Don’t remember who made this stamp.

Be sure to check out the Clearance rack to get some good deals!! Some items are 80% off!!

Holiday PEEK-A-BOO Gift tags

We have a new die for the Bigshot, that debuted in the Holiday mini. Many were using the die for cutting the little windows for an ADVENT calendar. I didn’t get to make one, but I did make a few tags using one of the larger scalloped windows. Here’s one of my tags which I will be teaching at a workshop this week. All the ladies will get to make a set of tags using every one of the little windows, plus some other cool rubons using the transfer sheets available from “ADD-A-LITTLE-DAZZLE” and images in My Digital Studio software. Be sure to check back next week to see what they made!!  If you should order some of those cool transfer sheets…be sure to tell Monica I sent you!! She and her family live up in COLD Northern New Mexico…and they have been a big blessing to me and my daughter when I couldn’t get my house winterized last year.. They took time out of their busy life and helped me out. That was truly neighborly!!

Here’s my first tag.

Here are some more close ups and what’s under the “peek-a-boo-flap”

and all the bling…..

I used the silver glimmer paper for the snowflake, the center flower from the lace border punch in the center of the snowflake, topped off with a pearl. You can buy all these punches, dies and papers on my website HERE.
