SNEAK PEEK for BUTTERFLIES!!  Strength and HOPE available 1 May 2011

There’s a new beautiful butterfly stamp set for this spring called Strength and Hope. When you purchase the stamp set or the digital set, SU will donate $2 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  This foundation was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder. You can read more about it here.  I actually cased my card from the new spring flyer. I did make some changes by using designer paper in different places but used the same colors and got a similar effect. I am for USING up what materials you have. I had some leftover BAJA Breeze designer paper so I chose that to mat the front design instead of a solid Baja Breeze card base. I stamped a lot of the design also instead of using the neutrals designer papers.

I hope you enjoy my card and take the time to stamp some butterflies with it and help STAMP OUT BREAST CANCER!!  Based on current rates, 12.2% of women born today will be diagnosed with breast cancer…..so everyone do your part to help STAMP OUT this horrible disease.

Here is a close up of the butterfly image. It’s such a pretty butterfly. I can see it embossed also.

You can purchase the stamp set or the Digital image set here online 24/7. beginning May 1st.  I will be offering a STAMPING SPECIAL during MAY using this set.

You can order all your SU products HERE online 24/7.

Creative-Sketches CS23 COLOR challenge

Mar 10th, 2011 Posted in Challenges, Creative-Sketches, My Digital Studio, Rubber Stamping, SKETCHES, Specialty Classes, Sunday Stamp Class, WORK AT HOME | Comments Off

It’s another week of SKETCHES!!! This week is a COLOR challenge.

Here’s the colors we had to work with.

I have used MDS to create the my card this week, because I had a little foot injury and was not able to get down the steps to my stamp room. I hope to get down there and create another card with these beautiful watery colors. They remind me of the ocean. But I hunted through my stamp images and pulled up the UPSY DAISY set… this is a very versatile set and I just don’t use it enough. The Top note die image has the Baja Breeze and Bashful blue colors, then topped off with the Daisies in OLD OLIVE and a matching taffeta ribbon and bow in Old Olive. I added some gold brads to the bow and butterfly, then put it all on some Basic Gray background designer paper. I hope you enjoy. You can see how easy it is to create cards using MyDigitalStudio software. I don’t usually like to create cards using MDS, but when you’re hobbling around with a bum foot….it’s makes your job a bit easier!!  Of course I had planned on making an entirely differently designed card….but the stupid bum foot got in the way.. so check back later this weekend and I may have the other card made.  Thanks for stopping by my blog and be sure to check out all the other DT member’s cards!!

Here’s my version using all those gorgeous colors.

The stamp set UPSY DAISY is still available in the current catalog.. so be sure to check it out!

Creative Sketches CS22

Mar 3rd, 2011 Posted in Challenges, Creative-Sketches, DESIGNER PAPERS, Mixed Media, My Digital Studio, SKETCHES, Spring, Sunday Stamp Class, WORK AT HOME | Comments Off

It’s another week of SKETCHES!!! This week is a sketch I designed, and I have used MDS to create the sketch and the actual card. Then I printed out the digital image I was given, and created a dimensional card with the Digital image as the focal point.

Here is the sketch I started with:

Here is my digital card I created from this sketch, using a FREE digital image I was given. My granddaughter is into “dress designing” , so I chose this vintage Pattern Digi image from a group.

Now here’s my actual card I made, using the Digital image (the little girl in the old fashioned dress) as the focal point.

I used the same designer papers, backed them with corresponding colored cardstock and added the Victoria ribbon, taffeta 1/8″ ribbon and antique brad. I used a digital image so you can see what the effect of using a NON stamped item on a card. This is a perfect way to use a PHOTO of a special person for a special event, such as a wedding, anniversary, birthday, or even graduation. Just change the colors to fit the occasion.

Supplies: Stamp sets: None; Designer Papers: Elegant Soiree; Cardstock and Inks: Pacific Point, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Whisper White;

Accessories: Victoria Lace; 1/8″  Marina Mist taffeta ribbon, Antique Brads, glue dots, sponges
